The Mercedes W124 T models and S124 are equipped with a loudspeaker in the rear doors. These are covered with grilles that use two small plastic pins for fastening. Of course, these break off relatively quickly. The panelling then sits askew or falls off completely. Attempts to repair the panelling with glue or screws are usually a bad idea.
We have tackled this problem and developed a permanent solution. This consists of a carrier plate and two matching metal spikes. The carrier plate is fitted with raised sections that fit exactly into the recesses in the grille. This ensures that the plate/pegs are precisely centred in relation to the holes in the door trim. For installation, the plate must be fitted with the spikes and then glued to the original grille. Superglue and 2-component adhesives are suitable for this.
A loudspeaker grille can be repaired using a repair kit. The set consists of a carrier plate and two spikes. The speaker cover itself is NOT part of the scope of delivery.
